Ask what each person actually wants
Different generations need not spend the same amount of time looking around. Some relatives may want longer in an exhibition while others prefer a seated break. Ask everyone, particularly seniors, instead of deciding on their behalf that they should stop.
A bounded example is one subgroup continuing through a venue while another waits in a permitted rest area within the same venue. This is a planning example, not a claim that a specific attraction provides such a space.
Assign a responsible adult to each subgroup
Agree who supervises children and who accompanies anyone needing help. That person must accept the role and understand the return route. Being somewhere nearby is not a clear handover, and the driver should not be assumed to leave the vehicle to supervise visitors.
If only one adult can provide the necessary care, do not assign that adult to both groups. Keep a shorter shared route unless another capable adult willingly takes responsibility.
Specify the meeting point and time convention
Agree on an exact location, a time in Beijing time and the order in which to contact people. A fixed landmark everyone has seen is clearer than near the exit. At venues with several exits or shuttle routes, check that both groups can return to the same place.
Set any check-in and final return times according to actual distances and the group's needs. There is no universal number of minutes for every attraction. Tell the other subgroup before changing location.
Agree what happens if contact fails
Decide in advance who remains at the fixed point and who asks staff for assistance if contact is lost. Avoid both groups leaving to search for each other. Seek help immediately for an urgent danger rather than waiting for the meeting time.
Cancel the split if open areas or return transport change, or if a family member no longer feels comfortable with the arrangement. Verify current access and transport before travel and again on site rather than relying on an old guide.
