Separate room items, vehicle items and waste

Before stopping, sort items into three groups. Bring documents, valuables, personal medicine and charging devices to the room. Return ordinary supplies that the provider agrees may remain. Remove rubbish and opened food. Do not assume valuables are safe to leave merely because the same vehicle is planned tomorrow.

A temporary room bag can collect loose cables, children's items and small pieces removed that day. It is only a transport tool: redistribute its contents in the room so the whole bag is not forgotten the next morning.

Check seats and boot in a fixed order

Move from front to back through seat gaps, footwells, door pockets and the child-seat area, then check whether any luggage in the boot was left unsecured after daytime access. A fixed order prevents several people searching the same area and makes omissions easier to notice.

The reset should not use the driver's rest time or interfere with vehicle arrangements. Travellers handle their own belongings and follow the driver's rules for storage areas. Do not move installed safety equipment.

Add only confirmed needs for tomorrow

Review whether tomorrow is a city visit, walking day or long transfer, then add the relevant outer layers, water, paper goods and day bag. Putting every possible item back into the cabin quickly defeats the reset.

After boarding in the morning, make one final check: documents and personal essentials stay with their owners, the shared bag is in its fixed place, and aisles and footwells are clear. If the vehicle or driver will change, remove every personal item and confirm loading again.
