Beijing says 200-plus hospitals now support mobile medical-insurance payments
An official Beijing update says patients covered by local medical insurance can complete settlement on their phones at more than 200 hospitals, reducing counter queues and repeat payment steps.

On March 7, the Beijing government English portal published guidance sourced from the Beijing Municipal Medical Insurance Bureau saying insured users can complete medical-insurance settlement by mobile phone during hospital visits.
The notice says registration fees and outpatient costs for examinations, treatments and medications can be handled this way, and that more than 200 hospitals in Beijing had already launched the service as of the publication date.
For internationally mobile families already enrolled in the relevant local insurance system, this points to easier hospital access in Beijing. It does not mean every visitor can use the feature automatically, so patients should confirm eligibility, accepted insurance status and hospital-specific workflow before relying on mobile settlement.
