Boao Lecheng reports nearly 500,000 medical-tourism visits in early 2026
A Hainan Daily report says Boao Lecheng received nearly 500,000 medical-tourism visits in the first four months of 2026 while expanding multilingual hotlines, remote consultation links and payment convenience.

Hainan Daily reported on May 31 that Boao Lecheng had received nearly 500,000 medical-tourism visits in the first four months of 2026, underscoring continued traffic into the pilot zone.
The report describes a zone with more than 40 licensed medical institutions and says local operators are improving a foreign-language hotline, remote consultation links and cross-border payment convenience. It also notes continuing work around wellness, traditional Chinese medicine and other longer-stay service scenarios that matter to inbound visitors and accompanying family members.
This should be read as a scale and service-environment signal, not as proof that every hospital, technology or program is suitable for every traveler. Patients should still verify indication, licensing scope, pricing, scheduling and document requirements directly with the relevant licensed provider.
