Shanghai outlines 2026 trade measures that may support medical imports and smoother international transfers
An official Shanghai policy update says the city will streamline customs procedures for imported medicines, radiopharmaceuticals and medical isotopes, while also upgrading transfer-passenger services at Pudong airport and improving data sharing for international connections.
On June 22, Shanghai's government English portal published 2026 cross-border trade measures that include healthcare-relevant items alongside broader trade and airport reforms.
The notice says Shanghai will streamline documentation and customs clearance for imported medicines, including radiopharmaceuticals and medical isotopes, and will let importers print the Drug Import Note through a self-service system. It also says Pudong airport will upgrade boarding-gate facilities, expand international transit connections and strengthen cross-departmental data sharing for transfer passengers and baggage.
