Shanghai highlights community rehabilitation centers using connected therapy robots
An official Shanghai update says Gaohang Community Rehabilitation Center is using robotic exoskeletons, upper-limb devices and digital occupational-therapy systems, while the city reports 155 community rehabilitation centers were in place by the end of 2025.

Shanghai's government portal reported on May 8 that Gaohang Community Rehabilitation Center is using a connected rehabilitation setup that combines human therapists with robots for neurological, orthopedic and pain-rehabilitation tasks.
The article says patients there may train with a robotic exoskeleton for standing and walking exercises, an upper-limb rehabilitation robot and a digital occupational-therapy system. It also states that Shanghai had established 155 community rehabilitation centers by the end of 2025 and had added AI-assisted rehabilitation to medical service pricing items.
For international patients or accompanying relatives comparing post-hospital recovery options in Shanghai, this points to wider community-based rehabilitation capacity. Specific eligibility, physician referrals, session availability and payment rules still need to be checked with the rehabilitation center or referring hospital.
