Sichuan highlights new digital hospital access tools for foreign patients
A Chengdu-linked service update says West China Hospital has rolled out an English digital pathway covering registration, passport verification, appointments and bill payment, aimed at reducing common access barriers for foreign patients.

On June 20, China Job, citing Chengdu Municipal Government information, reported that West China Hospital had introduced an English Huayitong app pathway for foreign patients seeking easier hospital access in Sichuan.
According to the report, the process now supports email registration, passport verification, appointment booking and bill payment online, with additional multilingual triage and a broader app rollout planned. For patients comparing destinations, the main value is administrative simplicity before a hospital visit rather than any promise about clinical suitability.
This should be read as a service-access development, not as a statement that every specialty, doctor or admission pathway is available to every overseas patient. Travelers should still confirm the exact department, language support, document list and registration rules directly with the licensed hospital.
